‘The Great Divide’ Busby Marou – Release of the Year 2020
Busby Marou are fast becoming a National Australian Treasure. Tom Busby and Jeremy Marou have been playing music together for over a decade since their initial musical connection at a pub in Rockhampton. There’s potent chemistry that drives Busby Marou, and it is that unwritten agenda, a simple intangible understanding between them, that will continue to drive them into the exciting new chapter of their remarkable career. They have gained the reputation of one of Australia’s hardest working live bands, best known for their distinctly Australian storytelling and gifted musicianship. Onstage, a key element is the intertwining of the vocal interplay of two lifelong mates.
Busby Marou’s success includes millions of global streams, top 20 airplay, and three ARIA charting albums. Busby MArou’s self-titled album is certified ARIA Gold, while their follow up album Farewell Fitzroy debuted at #5 on the ARIA albums chart, and third album Postcards from the Shell House is a #1 ARIA album. Produced by Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy, Alex Lahey), the duo’s most recent album released on September 27, The Great Divide’ debuted at #1 on the ARIA albums chart.
Busby Marou were nominated for four Queensland Music Awards, with the Awards announced in March where the dupo will also be doing a live performance. Busby Marou were also nominated for two Golden Guitar Awards following the release of the Great Divide, where they were also due to perform if not for a storm preventing them from getting their charter flight from Bankwest Stadium in Paramatta where they supported Cold Chisel. The band are now on an extensive regional tour after performing in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide in the latter end of 2019.
